Other ways to go abroad

Off into the big wide world as a free mover

I would like to apply to a European university with which we haven’t got an Erasmus agreement

Please contact us to find out if there’s the possibility to enter into a new Erasmus agreement. Quite often you can apply as a free mover or visiting student. You won’t receive a grant and will have to pay tuition fees, if applicable. When crediting your coursework, we will treat you in the same way as students who have been abroad in the framework of an Erasmus agreement.

I would like to apply to a university outside Europe with which the International Office has no agreement

This is in principle possible. Please note the following:

  • You are responsible on your own for your application etc.
  • You may not apply for any University of Konstanz grants
  • You must pay tuition fees if this is common practice in your target country

You can either apply directly to a university or via an organization which arranges - sometimes free of charge - places on study programmes. Two such organizations - and this is for information purposes only and not a recommendation - are IEC Online and AsiaExchange. When crediting your coursework, we will treat you in the same way as students who have been abroad in the framework of an Erasmus agreement.
