Practical experience

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to put your knowledge and skills into practice. An internship can also help you to choose your future career.

Compulsory internship

An internship is a compulsory part of the study programme. How long it lasts depends on which option you have chosen for your mobility semester.

Internship Business

You will complete a full-time internship of at least 4.5 months in a company. You will generally complete it in one go. Upon written application, however, you may split it into two parts. At the end a report is due. The internship counts for 23 ECTS credits. In the elective area, you will have to complete at least 20 ECTS in total in case you are studying with the examination regulations of 2017. If your examination regulations are those from 2023, you will have to get at least 14 ECTS in elective courses.

  1. Before:  Have your internship approved in advance (Vorbericht)
  2. During the Internship: While you are completing your internship you have to write a journal, summarizing yourtasks on a weekly base.
  3. Afterwards: Hand in the journal, your internship certificate and the "Antrag auf Anerkennung" at the Department of Economics.
