Students with a disability or long-term medical condition

Should you have a physical disability and/or a mental health or long-term medical condition, our university will give you the individual support you need to make the most of your studies.

If you are a student at the Department of Economics or would like to study there, our departmental student advisory service is happy to provide unbureaucratic assistance. Should you have any other questions, please consult the university’s Special Needs Officer.

Special arrangements and subject-specific rules

Some rules and regulations can lead to considerable disadvantages and make studying very difficult for students with a disability or long-term medical condition. Special arrangements help to compensate for these difficulties.

To apply for special arrangements, we need from you an informal letter and a medical certificate. Please get in touch first of all with your departmental student advisory service, which will then forward your application to the respective Standing Examination Committee.

Special arrangements are always organised individually and depending on your requirements. There are the following possibilities, amongst others:

  • Additional time
  • A different type of coursework or exam assessment
