MA Seminar: Topics in the Economics of Poverty

We will study the challenge of world poverty from both a theoretical and empirical perspective, with an emphasis on the role of public policy in reducing poverty and shaping outcomes. Topics we will study include microfinance, health, education, gender, and the psychology of poverty.

Grading:

seminar paper (60%), presentation (30%), active participation (10%).
