Georgi Kocharkov received his doctoral degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2012. He was appointed as a Junior Professor in Family Economics at the University of Konstanz the same year. His research work explores what are the driving forces of the tremendous changes in the family structure in the industrialized world over the last half a century and how these changes affect aggregate economic outcomes. He is also interested in the role of uncertainty of fertility outcomes to parents for the human capital accumulation of children and their future labor market outcomes. Additionally, he examines the process of economic integration of immigrants and the cross-country differences in its determinants.
