Mark Kapteina is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Public Economics and the Cluster of Excellence the Politics of Inequality at the University of Konstanz. He received a B.Sc. in International Economics from the University of Tübingen and an M.Sc. in Political Economy from the University of Konstanz.

His research focuses on public opinion toward fiscal and social policy in Germany. He investigates public opinion towards inheritance taxation, public pensions, and tuition fees. His research employs experimental methods in survey research and methods in applied microeconomics.

Beyond his research, Mark regularly teaches tutorials in Introduction to Economics and Public Finance and offers a bachelor seminar on survey experiments.
