Ukraine Digital - Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis

As part of the project "Ukraine Digital - Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis" - approved, supported, and funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, DAAD - the module "Advanced Corporate Finance Digitally Delivered" will be offered at the Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) in the winter semester 2022/23.

The target group are the students of the Master Financial Management and Controlling of the National Wadym Hetman University of Economics in Kiev, a long-standing partner of our Department of Economics. It is also planned to award 24 scholarships to Ukrainian students.

The module is intended to replace and expand the courses "Innovation in Corporate Finance" and "Financial Management", which cannot be offered at KNEU due to the war in Ukraine. The aim of the project is to enable Ukrainian students to continue pursuing their study goals even in times of crisis.

The module is a combination of two different elements. The first part "Financial Management Foundations of Corporate Finance" is led by the Ukrainian professor Dr. Oleg Tereshchenko. The second part of the module "Economic Foundations of Corporate Finance" is offered by Prof. Dr. Axel Kind of the University of Konstanz. The course is supplemented by additional tutorials. While the course is partly held synchronously through ZOOM sessions, other parts of the module are held asynchronously through screencasts and ILIAS tests. The lectures and tutorials are accompanied by active participation in digital forums for questions and discussions. In order to ensure the ability to study the module even in times of large-scale and frequent war-related power outages, all parts of the module are recorded and made available for asynchronous learning.
