Start of new programmes and end of the project

The official lifetime of the project ended on 14/10/2018.

The new/revised study plans developed by the partners of the ITE-VET project have been implemented by the start of the Ukrainian academic year 2018/2019 in September 2018.

At KNEU 32 students started in the revised programme, at IFNUL 20 students and at PNU 24 students.

Final Workshop in Kyiv

In September 2018 the project’s consortium members met in Kyiv for the final workshop. As a result of the project new or revised study plans were implemented at the Kiev National Economic University, the Ivan Franko University of Lviv and the Prycarpathian National University of Ivano-Frankivsk. The partners presented details of the implementation and the start of the new/revised study plans.

Furthermore, the agenda focused on dissemination. On the first day a moderated round table with representatives of the consortium members and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine took place. On the second day a moderated round table with representatives of the Employment Promotion Center “Perspectives” in KNEU and stakeholders representing the economy (employer organizations, chambers, employers) was carried out. Finally the consortium visited the  Irpin State College of Economics and Law and introduced the ITE-VET project there.

Sixth Seminar for Teaching Staff in Lviv

The sixth seminar took place at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv from June 12th to 13th 2018.

The seminar was chaired by Prof. Fernando Marhuenda (University of Valencia).

Letter from IFNUL to the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine

In June, 2018, IFNUL sent a letter to the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. It contained suggestions for a resolution for implementing a new profession.

Round table “Applied learning in the field of VET” in the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman

On June 06, 2018, the round table was held by the project team of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman in order to disseminate the results of the Erasmus + project “Improving teacher education for applied learning in the field of VET (ITE-VET)”.

The round table “Applied learning in the field of VET” was attended by more than 120 participants: teachers of vocational education, teachers of economics and business from colleges, vocational schools, secondary schools, colleagues from KNEU, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Transport University, National Pedagogical Drahomanov University, employees of research institutions.

Within the round table, the participants had the opportunity to improve their qualification and attend  master classes of the KNEU teachers.

In the end of the round table each participant received a certificate.

Fifth Seminar for Teaching Staff in Ivano-Frankivsk

The fifth seminar took place at the Prycarpathian National University of Ivano-Frankivsk from May 29th to 30th 2018 .

The seminar was chaired by Prof. Thomas Deißinger (University of Konstanz).

Seminar for Students and Special Mobility Strand - in Vienna

From the 7th -20th of May 2018 the Seminar for Students and the Special Mobility Strand took place in Vienna. A group of 14 students and 2 lecturers from the following universities visited the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna):

  • Kyiv National Economic University
  • National University of Lviv
  • National Academy of Pedagogical Science, Kyiv

In the beginning the participants got an introduction into the Austrian VET-System and a campus tour. The participants were obliged to take part in a minimum number of 5 lectures at the WU Vienna. They also were asked to write a report including a reflection on their stay.

They also were able to use the library for personal study times without any restrictions.

The participants had the chance to join a BBQ for the students of the seminar and other Erasmus students, organized by the student representation of the WU Vienna Additionally a city tour was offered.

After the return to Ukraine, the participants were asked to send an individual report within four weeks to the coordinator and give a short presentation about their stay to their fellow students at home. Please find a presentation here.


Letter to Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

On March 27, 2018, KNEU sent a letter to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It contained suggestions for improving vocational teacher education in Ukraine.

XII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference

On March 19th, 2018, the Institute of Vocational Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the Ukraine hosted the XII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with the titel "Scientific and Methodical Provision of Vocational Education and Training". At the conference the development issues of vocational and professional pre-higher education in Ukraine were issued. The results of the scientific and experimental work of the Institute for Vocational Education on the implementation of scientific and methodological support for professional training of specialists were highlighted. In particular, the achievements of the international Erasmus+ project ITE-VET.

Meeting between students and teachers to improve practice-oriented training of VET teachers in higher education and pre-higher educational institutions in the Ukraine

On March 23rd 2018, a discussion between students and teachers with the adviser of the Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science (MES) Natalia Shulga took place at the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University. The initiative for the meeting came from the Students Academic Council of the Faculty of Personnel Management, Sociology and Psychology.

After the discussion teachers of the Faculty of Personnel Management, Sociology and Psychology shared their experience of project activities, during the Erasmus + project "Improving teacher education for applied learning in the field of VET (ITE-VET)".

As a result of this discussion suggestions to improve practice-oriented training of VET teachers in higher education and pre-higher educational institutions were sent to the Ukrainian MES.

Fifth Workshop in Ivano-Frankivsk

In March 2018 the project’s consortium met in Ivano-Frankivsk for the fifth workshop. The agenda focused on the discussion of the revised study plans of the Ukrainian partners. In order to guarantee a fruitful implementation of the study plans including internships in vocational schools and companies , the partners defined details and next steps. A more detailed dissemination plan was developed. On the first day all participants had the opportunity to visit the vocational school of tourism in Ivano-Frankivsk. Furthermore Prof. Dr. Philipp Gonon of the University of Zurich, the critical friend of the project, gave a presentation about the vocational teacher education in Switzerland and a feedback statement regarding the project.

Fourth Seminar for Teaching Staff in Kyiv

The fourth seminar took place at the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University in Kyiv from February 20th to 22nd 2018 .

Seminar for Students and Special Mobility Strand - in Valencia

From the 20th -3rd of December 2017 the Seminar for Students and the Special Mobility Strand Valencia took place. A group of 16 students and 2 lecturers from the following universities visited the University in Valencia:

- Kiev National Economic University

- Prycarpathian National University of Ivano-Frankivsk

- National University of Lviv

- National Academy of Pedagogical Science, Kiev

The participants visited several lectures at the University of Valencia. A visit to the FOREM-PV Educational Center in Valencia and discussions about the content of education gave them insight into the Spanish vocational education system. Furthermore a public school and the University as a whole were visited.

They also were able to use the library for personal study times without any restrictions.

After the return to Ukraine, the participants were asked to send an individual report within four weeks to the coordinator and give a short presentation about their stay to their fellow students at home. Please find a presentation here.


Forth Workshop in Vienna

In December 2017 the project’s consortium met in Vienna for the fourth workshop. The agenda focused on the newly developed study plans of the Ukrainian partners. The presentations of the study plans were accompanied by intensive discussions. In order to continue the discussions about some Ukrainia specific issues the consortium agreed on a special meeting of the Ukrainian partners in Kiev in February 2018 The agenda was complemented by a visit to a technical vocational school and a presentation of the vocational education system in Austria.

Seminar for Students and Special Mobility Strand – in Konstanz

From the 6th -19th of November 2017 the Seminar for Students and the Special Mobility Strand took place in Konstanz. A group of 14 students and 2 lecturers from the following universities visited the University in Konstanz.

Third Seminar for Teaching Staff in Ivano-Frankivsk

The third seminar took place under the headline “Pedagogy in higher education” at the Vasyl Stefanyk Prycarpathian National University in Ivano-Frankivsk. Between November 6th and 10th 2017 teaching staff members active in the field of "teacher education" of the Ukrainian partners universities attended the seminar.

Third Workshop in Lviv

In May 2017 the project’s consortium met in Lviv for the third workshop. The agenda focused on the issues of practice orientation and vocational teacher education at the Ivan Frank National University of Lviv for future teachers of vocational schools with students with special needs. Additionally the Ukrainian partner universities presented the current status of their new/revised study plans. Furthermore the Vienna University of Economics and Business provided insight in their way of doing vocational teacher education. Also visits to three vocational schools in Lviv, a presentation of the Head of the regional Council of Entrepreneurs in the region of Lviv, and a coordination meeting took place.

Second Workshop in Valencia

In March 2017 the second workshop of the ITE-VET project was hosted by the University of Valencia. Besides presentations about the Spanish vocational and teacher education system, the Ukrainian partners presented the specific needs of their institutions and their particular objectives in link with the project. The schedule also included the visit of two educational schools in Valencia and a coordination meeting.

Kick-off Workshop in Konstanz

In November the Chair of Business and Economics Education I (Prof. Deißinger) of the University of Konstanz hosted the kick-off workshop of the ITE-VET project. Representatives from all eight partner institutions were assembled in order to create a solid basis for a successful implementation of the planned outputs of the project. The agenda included presentations and discussions about the VET systems and vocational teacher education in Germany (Konstanz) and Ukraine, visits to the German vocational school "Wessenberg-Schule" and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Hochrhein-Bodensee, and coordination meetings.

The analysed potentials for improvement of the study plans of the Ukrainian partner universities are now being transposed into first sketches of new or revised study programs for vocational teacher education for and by the Ukrainian partner universities. Hosting institution of the upcoming workshop in March 2017 will be the University of Valencia.
