Prof. Dr. Eckhard Wurzel

Personal Information

Eckhard Wurzel studied Economics at the universities of Aachen and Bonn in Germany and Econometrics in the graduate programme of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He did his doctoral work at the London School of Economics and the University of Bonn, where he was a research assistant at the Centre for Labour Economics and a scientific fellow, respectively.

At the Economics Department of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) he was head of the Bureau for the Euro Area and the European Union, head of the Bureau for Germany, head of the Fiscal Policy Team and manager of the OECD´s economic projections.

He also tought at the University of Göttingen. His main field of interest are macroeconomic and structual policy issues relatet to the European Union.
